Calling All Cars

As part of my school project I am comparing the wedding in Western cinema to that of Eastern cinema.

Unfortunately I am slightly handicapped in that department as I do not speak any Chinese. My classmates are helping me out but I thought I'd come here, and talk to you wonderful blogospherians who have access to such resources.

What movies that feature marriage as a central theme or plot device do you know from China / Hong Kong / Japan / Taiwan / Korea etc?

Just a name and a brief plot description would make my life significantly easier.

I thank you all in advance! Suggestions that prove useful will win a mystery prize!

I can't think of any right now. Usually they are about the chase to the chapel, not the chapel itself.

When you said Eastern cinema, does India count? If it does, I can think of one: The Monsoon Wedding.

Well there is the Wedding Banquet. Big Fat Greek Wedding. Father of the Bride.

I ended up using The Love of Two Butterflies, the Joy Luck Club, My Wife is 18, and the Wedding Banquet (that last one on Queer Ranter's request)
