The Conversationalist

I went for a sleepover at brownie-friend's place yesterday. We had plenty of fun activities, including playing Star Wars Battlefront Co-op, which was fun but not fantastic, though I can see the potential. His mom and I talked at length about the Harry Potter book, even though she hasn't read much of it, she just sort of talked about what she thought would happen, and that was great.

Had a lot of good food, which is normal for when I go over there now. His sister (who made the brownies) made these melt in your mouth chocolate chip cookies which I adored. I had 5, though not all at once (2 before walking the family dog, 2 at dinner, 1 for breakfast the following day) and his mom made lasagna with salad for lunch and roast chicken with potatoes and ratatouille for dinner. That's right, real ratatouille. Mmmm.

Most of the time however was spent in deep conversations about the nature of human choice, art, writing, space dogfighting, Carl Jung, Freud, music, cats, Vietnam, and at one rather memorable point, the nature of a Royal Flush.

After we woke up we went to KLCC so he could pick up another copy of the Harry Potter book. We had pies for lunch and I am reminded of just how much I am going to miss him when he leaves the country again in a few days time.

We had planned for a long time to take a beach trip vacation, but it seems that is not to be... School never annoyed me quite as much before.

I'm glad I took the time to go over. I think life is all about taking these moments, skipping class, eating good food and talking good talk, and remembering your friends.

Now if I didn't have a fucking mid term tomorrow, I'd be happy as a clam.
