Just for now

You are not allowed to read past this line until you watch the video.

I sometimes feel that I dilute the impact of videos on my blog by posting too many of them. I actually do want to avoid this, but I can't help it. There are too many awesome videos in the universe, and this is one of them.

Now the obligatory blurb: Welcome to my world; the one of under-produced, vocal-driven, lyrical poetry disguised as music, normally sung by deep-voiced jazzy women.

Imogen Heap fits all the above, and is English to boot. She's managed to combine everything I love about music (except possibly rockin' guitar solos) into the above video. This is without a doubt the best a capella performance known to humankind.

You're seriously not allowed to keep reading without watching the video. You will thank me for linking it to you. You will be compelled to show it to your friends. You will be unable to stop watching it over and over. These are not commands; merely a statement of the reality that you will occupy once you click play on the video.

Clicked play yet?

Fine, then you can wish me good luck for my exams, starting today, at 2pm, and continuing for two weeks.

also, if you like first person shooters, guns, squad-based combat, slick control schemes, and awesome action, go play Rainbow Six: Vegas. Best shooter I've played this year.

You know, for a moment I thought it said "stick control schemes".

You know. Because the 360 controllers have sticks.

And I have a 360.

Lovely video. Good luck on your exams! Though I'm sure you'll do fine, given current track record.

It's really obvious the game is designed for consoles. When you first load the game, for example, the first thing you see on the main menu is 'press any key to continue.' The weapon selection and modification system is also obviously for consoles: On the PC you hold the key, and move the mouse in the direction you want. With sticks it would be very intuitive, with a mouse it's a little weird.

Doesn't stop it from still being awesome tho. Go pick it up, I think you'd really enjoy it.
