or: What I Did On My Holidays
Nah, not so general. Let's talk about Saturday in particular, the other days were boring.
Yesterday was Saturday (I'm beginning to lose TRACK!!!!) and it started with me waking up rather late because I'd stayed up until 6am writing my novel. It progresses, slowly, and I haven't gotten to do much with my characters because I'm mopping up scenes I glossed over last time.
Then I called my choir leader and arranged transportation to the Curve where we were going to sing Carols and be Festive and Joyful. So we go, we park (and recited the parking mantra while orbiting the vast parking lot) and get up to Metrojaya to find that no one besides two other people have turned up, no one is turning up, and no one called to say they weren't going to turn up. So there we were, two basses, a tenor and an alto, to sing carols. Fucking aunties. To say this was irresponsible of them is a gross understatement. The choir leader asked me to stay on with them because they needed enthusiastic people even if my pitching was off. I felt so sorry for the poor woman, who is normally very lively and perky but her disappointment and anger upon realizing our predicament was palpable.
So after that I wandered about in Metro while waiting for the choir participated in by two of my fellow WriMos! Erna and Irene did marvellously, although I know for a fact that Erna was plotting against us by sending kids to do sickening saccharine choreography while attempting to look cute but ending up being facile. (To anyone who reads this: Children are cute. They are not, however, well coordinated by nature. Kids waving their hands in the air to christmas carols is good in theory, but smacks of brainwashing and people who care more about the result than anything else)
Then we had dinner, where Amelia proceeded to spend the entire evening making lewd jokes. The girl is tiny. She just finished SPM. WHAT ARE THEY TEACHING KIDS THESE DAYS!!?! but the dinner was overall pleasant and we had fun exchanging Firefly quotes and taking digs at everyone, as is WriMo fashion.
Then a few of us played pool a bit. Someone, Who Shall Remain Nameless, But You Know Who You Are, refused to play because quote 'I'm not leaning over a pool table in this dress' but proceeded to make dirty comments every time one of us guys bent over. Then said spoilsport drove me home, which I suppose redeems her in some way, and along the way Gnarls Barkley got on.
If you haven't head their song 'Crazy' yet, and like good music, click the video. If you haven't seen the video for the song, and appreciate quality music videos instead of the usual scantily clad gyration clips, click the video. If you feel like improving your quality of life by spending 5 minutes of your time, click the video. If you're a WriMo, click the video.
(although you can see scantily clad gyrations of a very high quality here.)
Then I went mamaking with Nicholas and Marvin. It was rather sedate, but the company is unparalleled.

How do you make the word mamaking sound dirty somehow? :P
I find I do enjoy a good mamaking now and then, to refresh the mind and blow the steam off.
Pity about the choir performance. Perhaps you should have all gone out to a public square and started singing anyway, and one of you brought out a large hat and placed it in front of the assembly. Any time someone walks by, the choir will stop everything and merely stare hopefully at the passerby. THEY DO NOT MOVE OR SPEAK OR SING.
No one wore a hat. The thought did cross my mind tho. :P
And Calvin likes some of the jokes... So, did you find the other half yet? =3
How could you?! You're trying to take advantage of Someone, Who Shall Remain Nameless, But She Know Who She Is while she's leaning against the table! *le gasp*
Was so not. >.>
